Poker is a card game which involves betting on the value of your hand. It is usually played in groups of two to ten people. The goal is to win the most chips. During the course of a poker game, players will make bets and fold their hands in turn. To place a bet, a player must say “call” and put in the same number of chips as the player to their left. Often, good players will experience bad beats. This is a part of the game and should not be viewed as a failure. Bad luck does not determine a winner, and a player can still achieve a high level of skill by managing their bankroll.
