In poker, a player wins the pot when all but one of the players in the hand have a winning hand. During the betting rounds, a player must put in or raise the same amount of chips as any other player who has not folded yet. The highest-ranking hand is called the “pot,” and that player receives the pot and all bets. During the betting phase, all but one player can fold their hand.<\/p>\n
Various poker variants have betting intervals. Each player has the right to bet first, but the ideal number is between six and eight players. At the end of the round, all bets are gathered into the central pot, where the winnings from the preceding rounds are added up. The winner of a hand is the person who has the highest ranking poker hand, and wins the pot if no one else calls his or her bet.<\/p>\n
In the next round, a player who has the highest rank in the hand is the dealer. The dealer will distribute five community cards to the players. After three or four raises, a player can no longer compete for the pot. This is called a “showdown.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
