Poker is a game of skill and strategy that requires you to learn a lot about the game. The key to winning at poker is finding optimal frequencies & hand ranges for different situations.<\/p>\n
A basic rule of poker is that each player gets a total of seven cards (two face-down, and five on the table). The goal is to make the best possible hand using all of your cards and combining them with the cards on the table.<\/p>\n
The player with the lowest hand starts the game, and play proceeds clockwise around the table until everyone has a chance to bet or fold. Each betting interval, or round, begins when a player makes a bet of one or more chips.<\/p>\n
Each player to the left must “call” that bet by putting into the pot the same number of chips; or \u201craise,\u201d if they wish to increase their bet, by putting in more than enough chips to call the previous bet. If a player does not want to raise, they must drop or fold; if they drop, they lose all the chips that put into the pot, and no further betting is allowed until the next deal.<\/p>\n
In some games, a player can \u201ccheck\u201d during a betting interval, which means they pass on their turn to bet and wait for other players to act before they can make any further bets.
