Poker is a card game that is played in casinos, clubs, private homes and online. The basic concept of the game is to create the best hand possible.
Players start the game with a standard pack of 52 cards. Each player is given two face-down cards. They can choose to use one of their cards or discard it.
After the first round of dealing, the dealer will shuffle the cards. He or she will then deal another round of cards to the remaining players.
In each round of dealing, the turn will pass from one player to the next. This process takes three rounds. One card will be dealt to each active player.
Before the end of each round, a betting interval will begin. During this interval, each player will bet or fold. If the player chooses to fold, he or she will forfeit the chance to compete in the main pot.
If a player bets and no other player calls, the pot is won. However, this is not always the case. A high card can break ties. For instance, if several people tie for the highest card, a high card outside four of a kind breaks the tie.

Once the last betting interval has ended, a “showdown” will occur. The person with the best hand wins the pot.
