Casino is a gripping film that is not afraid to show the darker side of Las Vegas. Robert De Niro is terrific as Ace Rothstein, and the movie offers a glimpse into how mob bosses operate behind closed doors. It also shows how corrupt the FBI is, and how willing they are to sacrifice the lives of innocent people in order to prosecute a few mafia members. At almost three hours long, the movie is one of Martin Scorsese’s longest films, but it never lags or runs out of steam.
